As most of you already know, 2030Glam is no longer an active blog. Ashley has decided to quit blogging but I have decided to start my own personal blog and YouTube channel. So If you would like to still follow me, you can find me here:

www.thesaltlifewife.blogspot.com

And on YouTube my Channel is under my real name:

I've been trying to find everyone and re follow you all but it's proving to be quite difficult.
I followed over 700 channels on YouTube and had around 400 on my blog roll. So if you get a minute, please go follow me and I promise I will follow back like before.

I apologize for any inconvenience this May have caused. But I also want you to know that I plan on continuing to blog for many more years. And I really appreciate all of you who gave me "pep talks" and helped me decide to continue on my Youtube journey as well.

Hope to see you soon !

Sincerely,
Julie ;)

Review Of AVON Mega Effects Mascara

As most of you already know, I recently started selling Avon. This Mascara was one of the products I was most excited about to try. The packaging alone on this really intrigued me, Like who has ever released a square shaped mascara and how in the world does it work? This came out at the end of last year I believe so it's not exactly a new product, but it was new to me. I actually filmed a first impressions video on this for my YouTube channel and then I accidentally deleted it. Needless to say I was pretty upset about that. I haven't exactly been having the best of luck lately with all of my electronic gadgets. But that's a whole other story, back to my review.

See why the packaging intrigued me? I love how small this is too, it's about the length of a tube of lipstick. So it won't take up much room in your makeup bag and will leave you more room for other goodies.

And this ladies, is the amazing rubber bristle "wonder brush". When I first laid eyes on this I didn't know whether to be excited or scared of it. Now that I have used it several times, I will say that I'm a huge fan of it now.

Application:
The application process with this particular mascara is going to be very different with each person just due to the shape of the brush. I personally prefer to look straight ahead when applying, but others may find that it helps them to look upward or downward. You will just have to play with it to find out which method would work best for your eye shape.

I have found one amazing benefit to this mascara which I have never found with any other. And that is due to the amazing little wonder brush applicator. If you put it right at the base of your lashes and "wiggle it" gently, it will give you the effect of tight lining! The brush coats all the way across your lash line so it looks like you have tight lined without actually having to do it. I don't know about you ladies, but I love anything that can "save me a step" in my routine.

The rubber wonder brush is fully adjustable. You can leave it straight or bend it in a variety of angles.
And when you want to focus on certain lashes, all you have to do is turn the brush sideways.

Formula:

The formula of this mascara is very wet so you do have to be careful with it. But I have not once "splattered" it or made a mess with it. I just wanted you all to understand that this is not a dry type formulation. Since it is a wetter mascara, you will have to wait awhile in between coats. So if your an impatient person, you might find a challenge with this. But I just go work on my brows or something else while I'm waiting on a coat to dry. The fragrance of this mascara is very mild. I have very sensitive eyes and I can't stand when mascaras have really strong scents. This one is not overpowering at all!

Please excuse the terrible pics! My brows and skin are looking rough in them!!! But I wanted to make sure to show you the results I got with this mascara.

My final thoughts:

I absolutely love this mascara! I do think that it probably works best for those who already have some volume and/or natural length though. This products is something new and different which is always fun to experiment with. You would just need to try it yourself to see if it will work for you. But for me, I do have a little bit of natural length naturally and love the effect I get with this. I think my overall favorite thing about this mascara is how it gives you the effect of tight lining. And it is very builable but you just have to wait for each coat to thoroughly dry before applying another since this is such a wet formulation. I am thinking about doing a giveaway here on my blog soon and I'm wondering If I should include one of these mascaras in it? Please let me know what ya think about that ladies!

And if you would like to purchase one of these for yourself now, you can purchase one directly from our Avon website at:

We would love and appreciate your business!

I hope you enjoyed this review and that I didn't scare you all too much with the horrid pictures!
And don't forget to let me know what ya think about me doing a giveaway! Would you guys like a mixture of Avon and drugstore products?

Thankful Thursday

I have sooooo much to share with you all. It really stinks not having a computer right now. So I think I'm going to try to film a YouTube video sometime this weekend to catch up with you all. It will be much faster and easier than trying to blog it all on this old IPad that keeps shutting down on me. But just so I don't leave you all hanging here's a little bit of what I've been dealing with and what I am thankful for this week.

My little sister applied to a very prestigious Summer research study that would amazing not only for her resume, but also for her tuition, because it's a paying study. She attends Agnes Scott College in Decatur Georgia and its a private college so it's quite pricey. She gets several scholarships and assistance but there is still a portion that we have to cover every month and she struggles with this every semester. And this research study will pay her $1800 a month (she will be there 2 months) so she can put that money up to go towards her tuition. She was really nervous and didn't think she would get in because almost 300 students applied and they only pick six to go. But by the grace of God, she got in!!! So now she will have a little money to help with her tuition and dues for her senior year! Plus it's on the gorgeous little island of Nan Tucket, so I know she's gonna love her time there. And for all of that, I am so, so Thankful!!!!
I am Thankful for all this gorgeous Spring like weather that we have been getting here in the Florida pan handle. We have not had to run any heat or air conditioning for over a week now. We just open our sliding glass doors and it's like the perfect breeze coming in every day. Me and the hubby spent last Sunday at the beach and we were able to take a nap right on the beach. Now that's something I will never take for granted! After wanting to live in Florida for so long, We will both be eternally greatful for days like that! And for being able to live in what we consider paradise!
Next I am Thankful this week for Our New furniture! We have been needing some new living room furniture ever since we moved to Florida and we were finally able to get some with our tax refund. (Gotta love those refunds!)  And let me tell you what, I have been a decorating fool this past week! I absolutely love interior decorating. And since we got the new furniture, it gave me an excuse to "update" everything. Plus since we live near the coast now we wanted to give our home a coastal cottage type feel. And when we have friends and family come stay with us, we want them to feel like they are on vacation and not just at a relatives house. So I wil be filming an apartment tour soon and cannot wait to do that one!
Well that's all I want to share here. The rest is all about me and some stuff I'm going through personally so I am going to film that part. Thanks for reading ladies! I hope you all have a wonderful and blessed weekend!

Where have we been?

First of all, let me start by apologizing for the lack of activity with us lately. We have not blogged, read blogs we follow, been on Social Media much or watched our YouTube subscriptions. If you did catch my last haul video, then you heard me mention the possibility of Ashley moving for a new position with her job. Well she ended up turning down the position because the final offer to her just wasn't enough for her to uproot and move to Alabama all by herself. So looks like she will be hanging around a little bit longer here with me and her uncle.
Now on to what's been going on with me. Well first of all I don't have a Laptop anymore which is one of the main reasons for my lack of activity. My younger sister who goes to college back in Atlanta had her laptop crash on her and it is vital that she has one for school. So I sent her mine like any loving sister would do. I have one of the first IPad that came out (The one without a camera.) So that is what I'm using right now blog on. But it is old and cuts off a lot right when your in the middle of looking at something and let's just say that I'm getting completely annoyed with it. I also have a desk top computer that we just hadn't even hooked up yet since our move. So I wasn't stressed much about sending my sis my laptop since I had that one as a back up. Well I finally talked the hubby into hooking it up for me over the weekend and he can't seem to get it up and running! I don't know what the problem is but I have got to figure out something soon. I miss blogging and reading all of your blogs. When I'm not online I feel like I'm missing out on what all my girlfriends are up too! (I know I'm silly) but I really do feel that way. And with everything going on with my computer situation I have been feeling like maybe I'm not meant to be a blogger. Ashley kind of gave up awhile back on blogging with me and that's why you pretty much only see posts from me. But I don't want to quit. I would miss all you girls too much!!!! So just know that if over the next few months you don't see me on much, it's just because of this computer situation. Hopefully I can get a new laptop soon and all will be back to normal. I sincerely appreciate all of you who are still following me and continue to support me so much. It means the absolute world to me!!!!
So please just bare with me ladies. I promise I will be back at it As usual very soon!

Montagne Jennesse Green Tea Peel Off Review

I don't know about you guys, but all this recent cold weather has really parched my skin. I hate cold weather and so does Ashley. That's one of the main reasons we had always wanted to live in Florida! But evidently, it gets cold here too. BOOOO!!!! So between going out into the cold air, and then back into the dry heat in our apartment, it has really taken a toll on our skin. It has left us with dry, blotchy red patches, an overall dull complexion, and a more aged look. So we decided we better do something to take care of it ASAP.
We knew a good exfoliation would pep up our skin, so that's what we started with.
Then we decided to do a facial to detox our skin after our deep exfoliation. We found these masks by Montagne Jennesse at Walmart for only $1.49 each, which we though was a great bargain. You can also find these at Ulta for $1.99. We decided on the Green Tea and Ginger mask since we usually love anything with Green Tea.

Basically all you have to do is smear this all over your face, chill for about 15-20 minutes, then peel it off. It has a very thick consistency like honey. So it feels kind of sticky but I guess it needs to be that consistency in order to actually peel. And let me tell you, boy does this peel! If you have one of those weird infatuations with peeling skin you would love this!

We had originally planned on taking some pictures for this post of us with the mask on and then of the peeling part. But the mask goes on pretty clear so you couldn't really see it in the pictures. And then once we started peeling our faces, we realized that this was not a pretty site. Actually it was kind of disgusting! So we decided to spare you the visual. (We know your glad!)

About the mask:
Deep Cleans Pores
Removes Impurities
Makes Skin Appear Younger
Gluten Free
Suitable for Vegans
Dairy Free
Paraben Free
Nut Derivative Free

Pros:
Very Afforadable
It softens your skin nicely
Has a nice light smell
Soothes Skin
Non greasy
Peels Easily

Cons:
May Irritate Skin

Overall we both really enjoyed this mask. I (Julie) have super sensitive skin and was worried about using this once I read some reviews for this product on Ulta.com because several people said that it irritated their skin. But luckily it worked just fine on me and I have not noticed any irritation at all. We love how soft and smooth it made our skin. And it was so easy to apply and peel off. We definitely think that this helped to clean out our clogged winter pores and refresh our skin after being in all this harsh wind we've been experiencing. This mask would be great to do at a girls night or slumber party. And would even make a great party favor to throw in a goodie bag.

Our final verdict?
We highly recommend this product!

We had a great time doing this peel and can't wait to try something else from this brand. The price is amazing and so anyone can afford them. If you haven't already tried one of these, what are you waiting for?

Be A Bombshell Lip Crayon Review

I received this beautiful Bombshell lip crayon in one of my recent Ipsy bag's. I was kind of put off by the dark color when I first got it. But after playing around with it, the color has really grown on me. This was also the first time I have ever used a lip product from Bombshell, so I was excited about that. This particular pencil is retractable so there is no need to sharpen which I love. The texture goes on nice and smooth, but it is sheer so you have to build it up to get a lot of color.

These pencils come in 6 shades. The one I have is in the color "Shameless," and it is a Burgandy/Berry shade with some shimmer in it. I did really start to love this crayon after about the third time I wore it. But when I decided to do some research on it so that I could write a blog post about it, now I'm a little disappointed with it, and with Be A Bombshell as a brand. Let me tell you why....

As I was researching the ingredients, I discovered that these are full of Parabens. Not just these Lip Crayons, but a lot of their products. Now I understand that everything we put on our face cannot be perfectly organic and good for us. But it is well known now days that Parabens are extremely bad for us. So if I know something has them in it, I will steer clear of that product. I don't expect Bombshell to necessarily advertise this fact. But I just wish I had known this before. That is the reason I wanted to share this info with you all. I am in no way, shape, or form saying that these are bad products or that Bombshell is a bad company. I am just giving you a warning that if you are someone who is worried about the health affects of Parabens going into our bodies, then just make sure you research ANY products you buy. Not just products from the Be A Bombshell line. There are a lot of cosmetic companies out there who are aware of the health risks associated with Parabens and they have changed there formulations to make there products better. So why can't others if they truly care about their customers who use their products?

Sorry, did not mean to go on a little rant. But... It is what it is. Just very disappointed right now.
Is there any other major brands out there that you know of that are still putting Parabens in their products? If you know of any in particular, we would love to know about them!

Thanks for reading dolls!

 XOXO

Thankful Thursday

There is always so many things that we should be Thankful for. But it can be hard to remember to be thankful for things when stuff isn't going our way, or when we're having a bad run of luck. But to me, if you woke up this morning, then you have a lot to be Thankful for. It's that simple.

Most of you know that our fur baby had surgery a few weeks ago. Well he is still recovering fine from the surgery but now he is having some sort of reaction to some of the medications that they gave him and his hair is falling out in clumps. I am so thankful that he is healing well and back to being his normal happy little self, but it makes me sad to see his beautiful fur falling out all over the place. They have assured me that there is no need to worry about it and that it will grow back but it's still hard to see him like this. But none the less, I am so happy and thankful that he is still here with us.

If you watched my past Youtube video titled "Prayer Warriors Needed" then you heard me talk about my younger sisters battle with addiction. She has been hooked on prescription pain pills for years now and we continue to pray for her and her safety. But things just keep spiraling out of control worse and worse with her. She has been living on and off the streets, and will not take the help that my other sister and I have offered her. We found a church based rehab program that is completely free but she swears that she doesn't "have a problem" so she will not go into the much needed program. Yet she continues to beg my sister for money. It is heart breaking to know that your own flesh and blood will lie to your face in order to "get a fix." We are at a point with her now where we don't know what else to do other than to keep praying for her. So if you are a praying person, PLEASE pray for our sister Susan. She needs help and she needs it now. I am thankful that she is alive and we know where she is today. But that can change over night with her so quickly. So just pray for her safety and strength to try and overcome this demon that has such a strong hold on her life.

As I am writing this, my friends and family back in Georgia are being hit with another snow and ice storm. So far everyone still has heat and power, and for that I am Thankful. But I just pray that this will be the last of the crazy weather there for them. We know some people who work outdoors and have lost a significant amount of income due to not being able to work through all of this. I hope that Ga gets a break soon so that life there can go back to normal. It makes me so thankful that I live in Florida and haven't had to deal with any of this mess. But it still does't ease my heart from hurting for them.

Remember to be thankful for each and every day we are given. For tomorrow is never promised. And as long as you live by these words, you will live a happy and thankful life. And there's nothing better than that!

I hope you all are having a wonderful and blessed week! Let me know some things that you are thankful for this week. :)
